2009/12/02 - Super Monkey Ball 2 for the Apple iPhone is here and available for purchase on iTunes for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game offers 100 new levels, 15 new bonus levels, much smoother controls, 5 new themed worlds, and, for the first time ever on the iPhone, 3D monkey characters! The game also brings exciting new mini games to the iPhone experience. Monkey Bowling, the first of these mini-games, comes included with the purchase of Super Monkey Ball 2. Two more mini-games will be made available via downloadable patches in the coming months. 2009/10/26 - Other Ocean Interactive will be sponsoring this year’s Vortex Game Competition. Vortex was created as a response to the huge interest around, and growth of the video game industry in Canada. It is a great opportunity open to emerging video game developers, and Other Ocean Interactive is happy to be able to support such an event. Vortex 2009 will feature a boot camp where video game enthusiast can learn more about creating, producing, protecting, and commercializing their projects as well as a competition that will allow budding designers to pitch their game ideas to a panel of video game industry experts. One of Other Ocean’s designers, Justin Kwok, will be playing an essential part in judging the competition, as well as acting as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Other Ocean announces new studio in Newfoundland and Labrador!

2008/09/09 - Other Ocean Interactive is expanding with a brand new studio, to be located in the historic Atlantic Canadian city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador! In a joint announcement with the province's Department of Business, Other Ocean unveiled its third video game initiative, following its highly successful founding studio in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and its sister testing and quality assurance facility, Sculpin QA. Diner Dash now on the iPhone!

2008/09/08 - Flo is on the go! PlayFirst and Other Ocean are pleased to announce the release of the ever-popular Diner Dash for Apple's iPhone. With all the excitement and features of this original restauranteering challenge, Diner Dash joined the line-up at the App Store on September 3^rd as Other Ocean's second game for the platform. 2008/06/11 - June 9^th was a big day for Other Ocean Interactive! SEGA's Super Monkey Ball was confirmed for release on Apple's iPhone. As the developers on the game it was pretty exciting that the announcement came during Steve Job's Keynote at Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference in San Francisco. 2008/03/10 - Check out Other Ocean at Apple's March 6^th announcement of the release of the iPhone SDK. That's Gordon Wood, our Tech Director, behind the podium. 2008/02/26 - Microsoft announced the winners of the inaugural Xbox LIVE® Arcade Awards on the final day of Game Developers Conference 2008, and Other Ocean is the proud winner in two categories for their LIVE Arcade rendition of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. SOTN scored the top spot for "Best Classic Game" based on the popular vote from Xbox enthusiasts everywhere, and also took home the "Highest Rated Game" accolade. Read the full press release here. 2007/11/12 - Other Ocean is proud to announce the North American release of Ultimate Mortal Kombat for the Nintendo DS. The game features fan-favourite Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and bonus Puzzle Kombat, providing multiplayer Wifi experience from a single cartridge. Visit the official site for more!

2007/06/27 - In a press release today, Midway announced Other Ocean's upcoming rendition of Ultimate Mortal Kombat for the Nintendo DS. Due in November, this exciting release combines fan-favourite Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and the addictive play of Puzzle Kombat in a single cartridge. 2007/05/25 - Atlantic Canada's rising star in game development unveils its new identity as Other Ocean Interactive. The studio was founded a year ago as Backbone Charlottetown, the latest addition to powerhouse developer Foundation 9 Entertainment. 2007/03/21 - One of the most popular games is now available on Xbox Live® Arcade. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, developed by Backbone Charlottetown, under the Digital Eclipse label was released on March 21. Recreated and enhanced for Xbox 360™, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is better than before with enhanced graphics, new achievements, and Xbox Live® leaderboards.

2006/09/28 - Backbone Charlottetown is developing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Xbox Live Arcade. Published by Konami, and released under the Digital Eclipse brand, the game will be a recreation of the PS1 classic and will be available in 2007.

2006/04/25 - Foundation 9 Entertainment's newest studio, Backbone Charlottetown held a grand opening ceremony on April 21. The event was attended by Peter MacKay, Canadian federal minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, as well the Prince Edward Island premier, Pat Binns, and nearly 50 members of the local media and government.
